Liam Fox is hiring almost 100 civil servants for his trade department
Liam Fox is hunting for almost 100 new civil servants in a bid to secure the future of the UK outside of the European Union.
Fox's Department for International Trade was created to boost ties between the UK and the rest of the world after Brexit, and has posted dozens of jobs within the last few days alone.
Fox's ministry still shares an office with the enlarged Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and was one of the two newly created offices of state under Theresa May.

While Fox's team have largely drawn on BEIS, David Davis' Department for Exiting the European Union has been based out of the Cabinet Office.
The Brexit ministry numbers roughly 420 civil servants, with almost a third based in Brussels. A spokesman told City A.M. that while some appointments were being made, it was not recruiting at the same scale Fox's department.

The move to dramatically bolster the ranks of the trade department comes after former civil servants warned that Whitehall was finding Brexit planning “a considerable challenge”.
Sir Simon Fraser, one of the Foreign Office's most senior civil servants up until 2015, told MPs last week that officials were struggling to cope with the workload of Brexit.
