Netflix says it will end House of Cards just a day after allegations against its star Kevin Spacey

Netflix has announced it will cancel House of Cards after its upcoming sixth season, just one day after a sexual misconduct allegation was brought against its star Kevin Spacey.

In a statement with production studio Media Rights Capital, Netflix said it was “deeply troubled” about actor Anthony Rapp’s allegations against Spacey.

Rapp said Spacey had made a sexual advance to him in 1986 when Rapp was 14 years old.

In a tweet, Spacey said he was “beyond horrified” to hear Rapp’s version of the encounter, which he said he did not remember.

If he behaved like Rapp described Spacey said he owed him a “sincere apology” for what he said would have been “deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour”.
