Rival scheme threatens Heathrow Airport third runway legal challenge | City A.M.
The backers of a rival project to expand Heathrow Airport have launched a legal challenge against the government’s decision to approve the third runway at the airport, Sky News reported.
The rival Heathrow Hub project favours a scheme to extend one of the airport’s existing runways.

A letter seen by Sky, sent to the Department of Transport (DfT) by the scheme’s lawyers DAC Beachcroft, paves the way for a full judicial review of the government’s decision.
It accused to the DfT of failing to provide information about the Heathrow decision-making process requested under Freedom of Information laws.

A separate judicial review is also being launched by five London councils with the support of charity Greenpeace and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Parliament voted to back a third runway at Heathrow in March.
