Sodexo buys the Good Care Group, expanding British homecare business
Sodexo has bought the Good Care Group, a firm which provides live-in care services, as the contractor looks to expand its UK home care business.
The French outsourcer, which is not publicly listed, said it will make it the second-biggest player in the British live-in care market.

The Good Care Group provides tailored care services to customers in their homes, who need physical help to live independently or have complex care needs.
Sarosh Mistry, chief executive of Sodexo’s home care arm, said the firms “share a common mission” to help customers age as independently as possible. This gave the French outsourcer a “cultural alignment” with the Good Care Group.
“The Good Care Group has built a very successful business in the UK, based on delivering high quality live-in care. Together, we see tremendous opportunity to offer a choice of home care solutions to consumers with complex care needs.”

Sodexo currently operates in the UK home care market as Prestige Nursing and Care. Jonathan Bruce, managing director of Prestige, will become chief executive of Sodexo’s the home care business, supported by current managing director of the Good Care Group Belinda Berkeley.
Fiona Lowry, chief executive of the Good Care Group, said as part of Sodexo it had a commitment to “improving the quality of life of those we serve and expanding the care we can provide”.
