Channel 4 on the verge of a new Great British Bake Off deal
Channel 4 is on the cusp of signing a new multimillion-pound deal to keep The Great British Bake Off on our screens.
An agreement with the state-owned broadcaster and producer Love Productions could be announced within days.
The deal will extend the current two-deal contract, which is due to end after this series.
The show has audiences of up to nine million every Tuesday, and has been a treasured asset for the broadcaster since it was bought from the BBC in 2016.
The upcoming deal comes as Channel 4 continues to grapple with the question of privatisation.
