IT jobs growth boosts profits at Harvey Nash
Harvey Nash, the recruitment specialist, revealed soaring profits yesterday, singling out the IT sector for its robustness.
The company saw first half profits rise 47 per cent to £1.7m on sales of £92.7m compared to £78.9m in 2004.
It also beefed up its board with the addition of two new directors. Richard Ashcroft has joined as group finance director, following spells at a number of companies including Michael Page, while Simon Wassall was promoted to European managing director.
Chairman Ian Kirkpatrick said the company had noted a robust demand for IT professionals across all markets despite a continuing competitive environment.
Chief executive Albert Ellis said: “Our European businesses continue to deliver strong increases in revenues and profits. In Britain we delivered robust profit growth and we are seeing early returns on the investment we have made in America.”
Kirkpatrick said that the company was on course to deliver results for the full year in line with expectations.
