Gintastic: Chapel Down to open new Kings Cross gin bar amid healthy results
English drinks firm Chapel Down posted its results with a twist this morning, revealing a new bar, restaurant and gin distillery venture to be opened in Kings Cross in March 2019.
Named the Chapel Down Gin Works, chief executive Frazer Thompson is hoping to build on the success of its vodka and gin products with an "experiential" bar, restaurant and ginnery near Regent's Canal.
The business saw its sales rise 15 per cent to £5.72m in the first six months of 2018, compared to £4.98m in the same period last year.

However losses also skyrocketed year-on-year, rising to £328,235 from £91,965. This prompted an fall in earnings before interest and tax to £216,075, from £235,411 in 2017.
Chapel Down chief executive Frazer Thompson said: "Whilst we have been affected by all of the market challenges in different ways, we remain completely focused on delivering solid top line growth at good margins whilst we continue to invest strongly to ensure we continue to build strong and sustainable brands that our consumers and customers love."
