Sis looks canny bet in Wednesday opener
RELATIVELY unexposed and proven on soft ground, SISKANY looks the most obvious way to get off to a flyer at Goodwood on Wednesday in the 1m4f handicap (1:50pm).
The son of Dubawi’s handicap mark of 98 makes things tough but he should still be progressing and could be a Group horse in time.
Though held back in fourth off a mark of 96 at Royal Ascot last time out, that was a stronger contest than this and he still saw the race out well in a battling finish.
The form of his Sandown race before that is working out well too, with both the third and fourth having won since.
PLEASANT MAN, fourth in the Sandown race, reopposes again here and he looks worth putting into a Swinger, via the World Pool at tote.co.uk or the Tote app, with Siskany.
Roger Charlton’s runner has shown his liking for a bit of cut underfoot and his most recent effort at Ascot was a bit of an eyecatcher.
Though only fourth in the end, he made up a fair bit of ground late on and was hitting the line strongly.
Goodwood can lend itself to successful late surges, particularly when the ground deteriorates, so he’s one to keep an eye on.
Elsewhere, William Haggas’ Kolisi will relish conditions and could be the main danger amongst the market protagonists.
From the first to the last (5:20pm) and EPIC EDEAVOUR is a strong each-way fancy.
Again, he’s one that’s shown a liking for soft ground in the past and a reproduction of his Windsor run last month would put him bang there.
Cheekpieces are applied for the first time and the 12/1 about William Muir’s runner looks too big to leave alone.
