Everton first team player suspended pending police investigation
An Everton first-team players has been suspended “pending a police investigation” the club confirmed this morning.
“Everton can confirm it has suspended a First-Team player pending a police investigation,” read a statement on the club website.
“The Club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time.”
Everton did not expand on which player was involved nor the nature of the police investigation.
The club is preparing for another season in the top flight, with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez taking the reins.
