Arise, Sir Antonio: Former Lloyds boss Horta-Osorio amongst business figures honoured
Former Lloyds boss Antonio Horta-Osorio has picked up a knighthood in the Queen’s birthday honours.
The Portuguese-born banker now chairs embattled Credit Suisse.

He was handed the title in recognition of his service to financial services and to volunteer work.
Professor John Kay was also knighted.
Adam Marshall, the former boss at the British Chamber of Commerce, picked up a CBE.
Hannah Bernard, Barclays’ Head of Business Banking, received an OBE for services to financial services during Covid-19. Jasjyot Singh, in a similar role at Lloyds, picked up the same gong.
Charlotte Crosswell was also given an OBE, a few weeks after stepping down as Innovative Finance’s head honcho.
The list this year has been particularly focussed around those who stood up during the Covid-19 crisis.
Other awards went to individuals within Astra Zeneca, as well as a number of individuals within Government who moved swiftly at the start of the pandemic to set up programs like the furlough scheme.
