Horse Racing Betting Tips: Vis A Vis can land Cesarewitch for that man De Sousa
HAVING spent hours studying tomorrow’s Dubai £500,000 Cesarewitch Stakes (3.40pm), I have managed to narrow things down to around 20 of the 34 runners in the 2m2f contest!
Earlier in the week, I was desperate to be against Willie Mullins’ well-fancied five-year-old Stratum, but the nearer we get to the race, the more I have begun to fancy his chances.
He lines up tomorrow over the perfect trip on his ideal fast ground with his stable in good form.
The only negative being the combination of his skinny price and massive weight, so for that reason I am prepared to give him a miss.
The Mullins team fire some useful other bullets too with Low Sun and Limini warranting the utmost respect.
However, for a bit of value I am going to look elsewhere, and where better to start than with Cesarewitch king Silvestre de Sousa who is looking for his fourth win in six years.
He is a fascinating booking aboard VIS A VIS for Neil Mulholland and the four-year-old has won both starts for his new yard since arriving from France.
With the trip likely to suit, he is unexposed and looks the call at 12/1 with Ladbrokes in what looks a wide-open race.
My other pick requires a little more imagination, but I reckon 66/1 chance FUN MAC can roll back the years and reward each-way support.
Seven-year-olds have won two of the last four runnings, and there are grounds to believe that this year’s Chester Cup runner-up can bounce back to form here.
Admittedly, he has disappointed in both of the last two renewals, but the booking of Cameron Noble means that he has nearly a stone less in the saddle than on both of those occasions.
