Man arrested at Gatwick Airport on suspicion of terrorism
Police arrested a man on suspicion of terrorism offences at Gatwick Airport earlier this week.
Officers arrested the 51-year-old man at about 7:40pm on Wednesday evening on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts.

The Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command detained the suspect after conducting a Schedule 7 “port stop”, which allows authorities to stop, search and hold individuals without grounds for suspicion.
The investigation, which is ongoing, is not linked to a UK-based threat or threat to the airport, the Met Police said in a statement today.

The suspect is currently in custody at a police station in Sussex.
