Funeral firm Dignity says profits are looking good
FUNERAL home and crematoria firm Dignity yesterday posted a 7.2 per cent rise in nine months profit and said its expectations for the full year remained unchanged.
Dignity, which is the UK’s only listed funeral services provider, said operating profit, excluding profit on the sale of fixed assets, was £43.0m in the 39 weeks to 25 September.
That compares with £40.1m in the previous corresponding period. Revenue increased 5.0 per cent to £137.3m. The group’s chief executive Mike McCollum said that it had acquired a total of seven funeral locations and five crematoria since the beginning of the year.
“Our expectations for the full year continue to be positive and remain unchanged,” he said.
Shares in Dignity, which have increased by 19 per cent over the last six months, closed down by one per cent at 601.5p, valuing the business at £383.38m.
