Jerry’s in for Ireland
JERRY FLANNERY has won his battle to be fit for Ireland’s crunch autumn opener against Australia on Saturday.
The Munster hooker has been suffering with a calf injury but takes his place in the Irish XV alongside Test debutant prop, Cian Healy, of Leinster.
Healy, 22, gets the nod in place of Marcus Horan, who has been ruled out until the new year, while veteran John Hayes resumes at tighthead after completing a five-match suspension for stamping.
Ulster’s Paddy Wallace is preferred to Gordon D’Arcy at inside centre while uncapped duo Sean Cronin and Jonathan Sexton are on the bench.
