CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
RBC Capital Markets
RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada, yesterday announced that it had hired Simon Ballard as a director and senior credit strategist in London. Ballard, who will be based in RBC’s London office, has over 20 years of credit experience, including roles at ABN AMRO Asset Management, BNP Paribas and Bear Stearns.

CB Richard Ellis yesterday announced that Adrian Phillips had been appointed as a director of the company’s recovery and restructuring services practice. Working with Mark Creamer, who is CBRE’s head of recovery and restructuring services, and with Tim Perkin, Phillips – a RICS registered property receiver – he will be primarily responsible for the development and delivery of recovery instructions across all property sectors.
Anglo American
Anglo American yesterday announced the appointment of Godfrey Gomwe as executive director of Anglo American South Africa, with immediate effect. He will act as Anglo American’s key representative in South Africa, working together with Anglo American’s business unit chief executives to deliver the group’s strategy in the region. Gomwe recently served as head of group business development, Africa, for Anglo American, and was previously finance director and chief operating officer of Anglo American South Africa. He has served on a number of Anglo American’s operating boards and executive committees during a 10 year career with the group.
