Moore Capital goes on hiring spree in Europe
HEDGE fund Moore Capital Management is understood to have hired a clutch of new staff as part of an expansion drive.
The London office of Moore Europe Capital Management, the European arm of New York-based Moore, is thought to have recruited six staff in portfolio management, investor relations and marketing.
The recruits are said to include James Vogl, a trader who once won the top prize in a world poker tournament in Las Vegas and who joins the group as a macro portfolio manager.
Moore Europe is planning to expand amid successful performances by a number of its funds.
It has 59 FSA-registered staff but the firm’s most high-profile appointment was made about a year ago when it recruited former GLG Partners emerging markets manager Greg Coffey.
The group is said to have a net worth of around $1.7bn (£1bn).
