China to release Rio Four
China is expected to complete its investigation into four Rio Tinto staff accused of spying next week. Lawyers acting on behalf of the Rio staff said that their five-month detention would end on 11 January. The arrests have caused tensions between Australia and China as one of the people being held is Australian. The arrests came days before a deadline on iron ore pricing negotiations between China and major iron ore producers, in which Rio refused to give the discount China wanted.
