the INSIDER
The chances of racing this weekend at any racecourse in the UK must be slim. However, if they do go ahead at Lingfield tomorrow, the most appropriate winner will be Melt in the 3pm. Unfortunately Melt’s running ability must be called in to question and RUBENSTAR could be the horse to have a few pounds on to warm the cockles.
Even though a field of only five runners has been declared for the 2.40pm contest, it looks very competitive. Four of those have tended to perform best from the front so a fierce pace is likely – opening the door for AEROPLANE to pick up the pieces and break his duck over a mile.
Looking ahead to the 1000 Guineas, Special Duty has all the form, but I’m after a bit of value and the horse I fancy to give us that is FIELD DAY at 33/1. The 2000 Guineas market centres on St Nicholas Abbey and possibly rightly so. However, the value lies with ARCANO on the exchanges where he is priced at around 16/1.
