KBC Peel Hunt
The mid and small cap corporate broking firm has made three senior hires.
Stuart Duncan joins Peel Hunt’s equity research team from The Royal Bank of Scotland. Mark McGuinness, previously co-head of sales trading at Numis Securities, joins as a director in the sales trading team. Duncan and McGuinness join Andrew Chapman (pictured), head of corporate broking and equity capital markets.
Axa Investment Managers
Dan Harlow has been appointed as portfolio manager within AXA Framlington’s UK equities team.
London-based Harlow will report to Mark Beveridge, global head of AXA Framlington.
Harlow will work closely alongside Chris St John within the nine strong UK equities team which operates across the market cap spectrum.
Cazenove Capital Management
The asset manager has appointed Simon Cooper to its private wealth management division.
Cooper will assume responsibility for business development within the intermediaries team.
In this role, he will be responsible for developing the relationships with SIPP providers and IFAs in respect of discretionary fund management.
Before joining Cazenove Capital, Cooper headed up the UK intermediaries sales team at Rathbone Unit Trust Management between 2003 and 2008.
HSBC Private Bank
Stuart Chapell has been appointed to the newly created role of head of insurance and financial solutions.
Chapell will be working to develop insurance and tax-aware solutions for its UK client base.
Chapell joins from Barclays Wealth, where he was director of their advisory and financial solutions unit having been recruited to head the financial planning unit within Barclays Private Bank in 2002.
Chapell has more than 25 year’s industry experience having started his career at HM Inland Revenue.
Russell Jones & Walker
The law firm has appointed regulatory expert Rosemary Rollason as an equity partner.
Rollason has joined the firm to head up the firm’s new regulation and professional discipline team, which will specialise in advising regulatory bodies and individuals facing disciplinary proceedings.
Rosemary joins the firm from Field Fisher Waterhouse where she was a partner for over 10 years.
Speechly Bircham
The City law firm has appointed Jonathan Bayliss, the senior partner in the financial services team at Farrer & Co, to its financial services group.
Bayliss’ expertise covers a wide range of financial services regulatory and advisory work. The appointment brings the number of partners to 90.
