Disgruntled Robinho completes
MANCHESTER CITY striker Robinho last night ended his unhappy spell at Eastlands by completing a six-month loan move to former club Santos.
The 26-year-old, who cost a British transfer record £32.5m when he arrived from Real Madrid in 2008, has started just eight games in all competitions for City this season and spoke of his desire to return home to Brazil just prior to scoring his first goal of the season in the 4-2 FA Cup victory over Scunthorpe on Sunday.
Santos, with the help of partners and sponsors, will take over Robinho’s contract, covering both his wages and bonuses, until the loan period ends on 4 August.
City boss Robert Mancini said: “Robinho is someone who needs to be playing regularly and we wish him well for the period of his loan.”
