HSBC Private Bank
The bank has appointed Paul Forshaw as head of real estate fund management.
Forshaw was previously part of a team responsible for real estate proprietary investment at failed Icelandic bank Kaupthing, investing joint venture equity in the UK, US and emerging markets.
Prior to that, he spent time at property groups Knight Frank and Fuller Peise, followed by seven years as a director of CBRE.
Threadneedle
The asset management group has poached fund manager Chris Kinder from RWC Partners to join its UK equity high alpha team.
Kinder spent the past seven years at RWC, working on both long only and long/short equity products. Prior to that, he was a UK small and mid cap analyst at Govett Investments and spent four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
In his new role, he will work on the Threadneedle UK Crescendo Fund and high alpha long-only range.
Religare Capital Markets
The investment banking and broking firm, part of Indian bank Religare Enterprises, has hired Manoj Singla and Suhas Harinarayanan as co-heads of research.
Singla joins from JP Morgan, where he was executive director of equity research and head of software and IT services for the Asia Pacific and India region.
Harinarayanan was formerly at UBS Securities, latterly as executive director of research over in Mumbai.
Otkritie Financial Corporation
The Russian financial services group has appointed Mikhail Belyaev as chief executive and chairman.
Belyaev has been at the group for the past four years as senior managing director. Before that, he was deputy director for LenMontazhStroy Investment and chief executive of KIT Finance.
Cordea Savills
Charles Smith has joined the international property fund manager as an associate director for its institutional business team.
Smith joins from Jones Lang LaSalle Capital Markets in Frankfurt, where he was responsible for the private placement of real estate funds in Germany. He has also previously been a senior associate and M&A adviser for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Düsseldorf.
Kent Reliance
The building society has appointed a new chairman in the form of Malcolm McCaig, who has been on the board for almost a year. McCaig also holds non-executive directorships at Renaissance Capital, Crest Nicholson, Barbon Insurance and Unum.
