Here’s how to plan around the disruption caused by this weekend’s London Marathon
The DLR strike may have been called off, but Londoners can still expect some disruption during the annual London Marathon, which kicks off on Sunday.
Thankfully, all Transport for London (TfL) services will be running as normal, but from 6am tomorrow there will be road closures along the marathon route, which starts in Greenwich and this year will finish at the Mall.
Road closures will affect Greenwich and the Isle of Dogs, and all approaches to Upper Thames Street in Canary Wharf, Tower Hill and Victoria Embankment. Rotherhithe tunnel and all the main bridges – the Tower bridge, Southwark bridge and Westminster bridges – will also be closed.

Roads are expected to reopen gradually from around midday to be fully reopened by 7pm.
Cyclists will also find that Santander’s docking stations in the marathon area will be suspended over the weekend, while those with a car have been advised to plan ahead to avoid driving areas affected by the marathon.
TfL passengers have been advised to check for any updates before they travel using TfL’s social media channels.
