Aldi’s £10 gin has been named one of the best in the world
A £10 gin on sale at discount supermarket Aldi has been named one of the best in the world.
The Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin retails for just £9.99, but has been named a top tipple at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC).
It adds another accolade to the gin’s cabinet, as the same spirit has already won a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).

The latest competition also awarded Aldi’s £13.99 Topaz Premium Gin with a silver medal.
An International Spirits Challenge spokesperson said: “Aldi currently holds the ISC’s title of “Supermarket Own Branded Spirits Range of the Year”, owing to its range being the best supermarket drinks performers in last year’s competition, so we were delighted to see more products return this year.”
Other brands which won a gold medal at this year’s ISC include the City of London Distillery’s Square Mile Gin.
Convenience retailers Nisa, Co-op and Spar also scooped silver medals for their own-brand gin offerings.
The news comes as British gin exports surpass £500m, and the craze for the spirit shows no signs of abating, especially as global consumers catch on.
