Tokyo court blocks Ghosn’s request to attend Nissan board meeting
A Tokyo court has denied former Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn’s request to attend the company’s board meeting tomorrow, Reuters reported, citing local media.
The ousted car executive had sought permission from the Tokyo District Court to attend the meeting, paving the way for a dramatic confrontation with his former colleagues.

But the request, filed by Ghosn’s lawyer Junichiro Hironaka, has been denied. Hironaka, who is nicknamed ‘The Razor’, is scheduled to make a statement to reporters later today.
The ousted boss spent more than three months in prison on charges of underreporting his salary before being released last week on bail of ¥1bn (£6.85m). He denies the allegations and has accused Nissan of mounting a coup against him.
The meeting would have given Ghosn the opportunity to speak with his former colleagues for the first time since his arrest in November.
Nissan is now looking to set up a joint board meeting structure with alliance partners Renault and Mitsubishi, Reuters reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The new structure would likely be led by new Renault chairman Jean-Dominique Senard and would replace the existing Dutch companies that link the three firms, according to the sources.
Under his bail conditions, Ghosn must remain in Tokyo awaiting trial.
