London Heathrow Airport introduces FlyFit fitness studio with yoga and cardio classes for passengers to work out while they wait for a flight
Got a delayed flight and already spent an hour wandering around the duty free shops?
Well, Heathrow has thought of a new way for passengers to pass the time, rolling out a “wellness and fitness studio” at the airport. In a partnership with FlyFit, the London airport is opening a studio in Terminal 2 this autumn, offering passengers instructor-led yoga and cardio classes.

And FlyFit will provide rental workout clothing and shower facilities so you won’t have to board a flight right after working out, for which your fellow passengers will no doubt be extremely thankful.
You’ll be able to find the space after security in departures at Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal, through which 16m passengers travel each year.
FlyFit founder Lauren Perkins said the concept came out of an aim to boost health “on the road”, so frequent fliers can have a space to work out while on the go.

Chris Annetts, Heathrow’s retail and service proposition director, said: “The new premium service from FlyFit brings personalised exercise choices into our customer’s journey, leaving them refreshed and ready for their onward travel.”
While Heathrow says it’s the first to roll out a fitness studio at an airport, it’s not the only one thinking of new ways to keep passengers entertained while waiting for a flight.
Earlier this month, Virgin Holidays announced it was planning a departure beach as opposed to a departure lounge, for passengers over in Barbados.
Travellers will have access to a private air-conditioned lounge, Wi-Fi gaming areas and check-in facilities, as well as a beach bar and restaurant.
That won’t open until next year though, with construction due to start imminently.
