Grenfell Tower fire: Latimer Road Tube station is closed and Hammersmith & City Line and Circle Line part suspended due to Grenfell Tower safety concerns
Latimer Road Tube station is closed and some London Underground services in the area have been suspended due to the risk of falling debris from Grenfell Tower following Wednesday’s fire.
Transport for London (TfL) said services on the Hammersmith and City Line had been suspended between Edgware Road and Hammersmith from around 11.20am this morning on the instruction of the London Fire Brigade.

A TfL spokesperson said as yet, they don’t know how long the services will be suspended for.
The Circle Line has also been affected, partly due to planned engineering work but also the fire.

Tickets are valid on local buses, and there is a good service on the rest of the line. The closest stations to Latimer Road are Notting Hill Gate and Holland Park.
London Fire Brigade advised for part suspension due to the short-term risk of falling debris from the tower. Specialist urban search and rescue teams are working to secure loose debris so services can resume as soon as possible.

The fire in Kensington took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning, engulfing much of Grenfell Tower in flames. Police have confirmed 30 people have died, and warned that number could rise further.
Today, the Prime Minister is meeting a group of victims of the fire at Downing Street. Yesterday Theresa May announced a £5 fund for those affected, to pay for food, clothes and other costs, along with a commitment that those left homeless will be rehoused as soon as possible, and as close to where they previously lived as possible.
A public inquiry into the tragedy was also announced by the PM on Thursday.
