After 80s rocker Bryan Adams comes out for Vote Leave, here’s how other musical relics (probably) feel about a Brexit
Last week we learned 80s rock icon Bryan Adams is backing a Brexit.
The news came just as Adams was midway through a European tour of his latest album, and means Vote Leave is steadily catching up with the Stronger In campaign when it comes to celebrity endorsements.
Seven celebrities have now been outed as outers, while Remain's backing has reached double figures.
Simon Cowell is the bookies' favourite as the next celebrity to support Vote Leave, but how will the 80s celebrity set vote on 23 June?
Bookies at Ladbrokes have crunched the numbers, deciding most retro musicians understand the financial bonuses that come with performing abroad and will vote to stay in the EU.
Police front-man Sting clearly loves being a legal alien when he visits the continent, and is on 2/1 to publicly support the "In" campaign before the vote next month.
Meanwhile, avant garde singer Kate Bush may have a Deeper Understanding of the negative impact a Brexit could have, and has equally short odds of 3/1.
Labrokes believes Rick Astley is Never Gonna Give the EU up, and has offered 5/1 the star will vote In this June.
Is Ozzy Osbourne Paranoid about bureaucratic regulations? A relative outsider, the betmaker says its 20/1 that the Black Sabbath lead singer will back Remain.
But what about the Brexiteers? When it comes to border control, Ladbrokes believes Gary Numan is the most conservative 80s rocker.
His breakthrough hit Cars, which reached no. 1 in the UK charts in 1979 before topping the US charts a year later, contains the line: "I can lock all my doors, it's the only way to live".
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: "While many of the stars of the 80s are tipped to come out in support of remain, it looks like Numan could buck the trend. The lyrics to 'Cars' gave us a pretty big clue after all."
Perhaps anti-EU campaigners organising ill-fated Brexit bash Bpoplive can add him to the set list…
