Barclays customers can now use Apple Pay… finally
It's been a long old wait, but Barclays has finally jumped on board the Apple Pay bandwagon.
Barclays is the last of the major banks to support Apple Pay in the UK, letting customers pay with just the swipe of their iPhone or Apple Watch.
“Since we introduced contactless to the UK in 2007, it’s changed the way consumers make everyday purchases by cutting out the hassle of handling cash," said Barclaycard chief Amer Sajed.
"With Barclaycard and Barclays bringing Apple Pay to our customers, we can now offer the widest choice of ways to make and take payments in a way that’s most convenient for them.”

Apple Pay first launched in the UK in July last year. Initially, First Direct, HSBC, NatWest, NationwideBuilding Society, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and Ulster Bank offered support, with TSB, Tesco Bank later joining them.
Barclays first announced that it would roll out support last year, but it has taken some time – a launch was initially pencilled in for the start of 2016.
Rival Android Pay is set for an imminent launch in the UK, Google revealed last month. Major banks wll also be supporting that, however, Barclays was notably missing from the line up.
Barclays has focused on its own range of payment wearables – a wristband, key fob and a sticker to attach to your phone, called bPay.
