Samsung partners with magician Dynamo, adding smoke and mirrors to its lower spec S7 smartphone
News of street magician Dynamo's talent travels far; korean firm Samsung has hired him to show off the powerful technology behind firm's new S7 smartphone, despite UK consumers only being able to buy the lower spec model.
Samsung has struck an advertising deal with the star to promote the mobile provider's new S7 smartphone to be released on 11 March 2016 and its powerful camera, following news that UK consumers will only be able to purchase a model that is less powerful than those sold overseas.
Samsung's latest flagship smartphone comes with two processor variants – Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890, with the UK getting the second, less powerful version.
The magician said: "I have always been fascinated by the fact that a simple twist on perspective can completely affect our perception of an image". With the new ad showcasing the S7's powerful camera, this simple twist on perspective means you'll barely notice your phone is less powerful than models sold abroad.
Tasked with highlighting the S7's powerful camera technology, Dynamo has released a series of seven illusions for the ad campaign, which the firm says will help customers "add a bit of magic" to their screen-time.
Samsung have asked Dynamo to reveal the secrets to his optical illusions. The video shows candid footage of the star using mirrors, hidden platforms and clever angles to capture previously mind-boggling images on the S7.
Dynamo will also be working with Samsung to stage a series of secret "pop-up" style magic performances to mark the launch of the S7 over the coming weeks.
