Watch: John Lewis Christmas advert 2015 – The Man on the Moon, with Aurora’s cover version of Oasis’ Half The World Away
[custom id="181"]
The wait is over. Christmas is officially here. John Lewis has revealed its latest festive advert.
Called Man on the Moon, the tearjerking ad shows a young girl – Lily – watching an elderly man who sits alone on the moon. After a few failed attempts to contact him, she finally manages to get a present to him using balloons – and it arrives just in time for Christmas.
Lily's present is a telescope, through which the man is able to look back down on earth and see what he's missing. You'll probably need a hanky at that point.
As with all of John Lewis' adverts, the music is a downbeat cover version of of Oasis' Half The World Away, which is run by Norwegian "rising star" Aurora.
You'll find more details of the making of the advert here and our review of it here.
