The top 20 companies Brits want to work for – Google, Apple, John Lewis, and Asos top LinkedIn’s most in demand employers list
People are scrambling to work at tech behemoth Google more than any other company in the UK, while high-street favourite John Lewis is the British company people most want to work for, according to figures published today.
Google, famous for fun offices and free food among many perks, has topped LinkedIn's annual ranking of the most in demand employers in the UK for the fourth year in a row.
Tech and retail were favourites, with Apple climbing one spot to claim second place and online fashion darling Asos rising eight spots to number four, while luxury department store Selfridges was a new entry in the top 10, as was Facebook.
Net-A-Porter and Topshop also made the list for the first time, taking the 15th and 17th spots respectively. Disney, Diageo and McKinsey also made their debut in the ranking.
The biggest losers, which dropped out of the list altogether this year, include Amazon, which recently came under fire in the US over the way it treats employees, British Airways, Goldman Sachs and Rolls Royce.
“This list represents the organisations that have most successfully built their employer brand and who use this to engage great potential candidates online," said director of LinkedIn Talent Solutions Chris Brown.
"They have identified what makes them special, what they can offer their employees, and have taken full advantage of digital and social media to bring this to life.”
