Grosvenor Group
Grosvenor Group , the privately-owned international property group, announces the appointment of Matthew Barzun as non-executive director. Joining the Group Board with effect from 21 March, he brings a wealth of international experience in politics, diplomacy and business. Matthew is a former US Ambassador to the United Kingdom (between 2013 and 2017) and to Sweden (between 2009 and 2011).
In 2008 he joined Barack Obama’s National Finance Committee where he developed the Obama campaign’s grass-root fundraising and volunteering strategies which were to prove instrumental to electoral success. He also served as National Finance Chair for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Earlier in his career, Matthew helped shape the early development of the internet, joining technology news and reviews website CNET as its fourth employee in 1993. He held roles within the company including executive vice president, chief strategy officer and executive committee member.
Matthew is chairman of Tortoise Media, a London-based news organisation, and serves on the boards of many not-for-profit organisations with a focus on education; public policy and interfaith relations.
Alvarez & Marsal
Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has strengthened its tax advisory practice with the appointment of Jason Clatworthy, who joins as a managing director and will serve as global lead for the firm’s Infrastructure Investors service offering.
The appointment reflects A&M Taxand’s continued growth at a time when tax rules, and regulations are in flux, and clients are increasingly seeking experienced tax experts free from audit conflicts. Jason will be based in London and will work alongside A&M’s senior practice leaders including Marvin Rust, who joined the firm last year as head of A&M Taxand Europe. Jason brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate and international tax with a focus on infrastructure, private equity, and financial services clients.
Prior to joining A&M Taxand, Jason was a Partner at Deloitte in London, where he founded and led the infrastructure investors team since its inception in 2006.
Redburn
Redburn (Europe), the independent equity research and execution firm, today announces that Steve Malcolm, formerly a partner at Arete Research, will be joining the company as a senior analyst in the telecoms research team. Steve will be working closely with Nick Delfas and team to build on the success of Redburn’s highly-rated European telecoms franchise.
Steve brings over 20 years of experience.
